In a Protestant church service that includes wafers, also known as communion or the Eucharist, the congregation typically gathers to partake in this symbolic act. The wafers, which represent the body of Christ, are usually placed on a plate or tray and passed around to the members of the congregation. Before receiving the wafer, there may be a prayer or blessing said by the pastor or priest. The act of taking the wafer is seen as a way to remember and honor the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. **
