The white edge on cheese is typically a natural occurrence and is known as blooming or bloomy rind. It is caused by beneficial mold growth, such as Penicillium candidum, which helps to develop the flavor and texture of the cheese. This mold forms a protective layer on the surface of the cheese, allowing it to ripen from the outside in. The presence of the white edge is a sign that the cheese is maturing properly and developing its unique characteristics. **

The purple petunia with a white edge is growing white now because it is likely a result of a genetic mutation or variation in the plant. This mutation may have caused the petunia to produce only white flowers instead of the expected purple with a white edge. Environmental factors, such as temperature, light, or soil conditions, could also potentially influence the color of the flowers. However, in this case, it is more likely due to a genetic change in the plant. **

The white edge on the incisors, also known as the enamel fringe, develops as a result of wear and tear on the teeth. As we use our teeth for biting and chewing, the enamel on the edges of the incisors can become worn down, revealing the underlying dentin, which is a yellowish color. This creates the appearance of a white edge on the incisors. Over time, this natural wear and tear can contribute to the aging of the teeth. **

Your dog may press his nose against the edge of the bowl when drinking because it helps them create a seal and prevent water from spilling out. This behavior is more common in dogs with longer snouts, such as Greyhounds or Collies, as they may find it easier to drink this way. It's also possible that your dog is simply trying to get as much water as possible in one go, and pressing their nose against the edge of the bowl helps them do so. **
