This typically involves a thorough inspection of the aircraft by a certified inspector or mechanic. The builder will need to provide documentation of the construction process, including detailed plans, materials used, and any modifications made during the build. Once the aircraft passes inspection and meets all requirements, the builder can apply for a special airworthiness certificate for experimental aircraft, which allows for flight testing and eventual operation of the aircraft. **
